2 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari : This primates safari will allow you to learn the basics of chimpanzee trekking while also providing you with a compelling personal narrative about these critically endangered giant apes. With over 13 kinds of primates, including chimpanzees, Kibale Forest National Park is known as the world’s capital of primates. It is also home to over 70 mammal species and over 375 bird species, making it an excellent safari location for birding. The park is also located in western Uganda on a 795 square kilometre area, and getting there from Kampala will take you between 5 and 6 hours. This journey begins and ends at the Entebbe or Kampala International Airport.

Detailed Itinerary.  

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

On the first day of 2 days Kibale chimpanzee trekking safari. Depending on your location, our knowledgeable driver guide will welcome you and pick you, give you an overview of the two-day Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari. After departing for the trip to western Uganda, it will take 5 to 6 hours to drive to the park, with the stunning views of the creator lakes along the way, including the lunch enroute along the way in Fort Portal. Amabeere Ga Nyina Mwiru is a stopover that you’ll make on the safari, where you are going to spot the beautiful natural wonders. Proceed the drive and arrive in the late afternoon. Where you can opt to have the optional activity to Bigodi swamp walk to have the stunning views of the beautiful bird species, later return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking –Return back to Kampala.

 On the second day of 2 days Kibale chimpanzee trekking safari. Wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. After your will be grouped in a group of six members and explore the jungles to hunt for chimpanzees with a park ranger, along looking for the chimpanzees you’ll have the chance to see other primates because the forest is home to around 13 different kinds of them. They will also encounter a range of bird species, such as red-tailed monkeys, white and black monkeys, colobus monkeys, and baboons. Once the chimpanzees are assigned to you, you will have an hour to spend with them getting to know them, feeding them, playing with them, and taking pictures.

After the one hour with chimpanzees you will be taken back to the lodge, and eat lunch and leave the park. Then, take a scenic drive though tea and banana plantations as you return to Kampala. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening so that you can be dropped off at your lodge or at Entebbe International Airport for your trip out.
