Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri.
On the first day of your two day Rwanda Cultural Tour, your tour guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or from a location of your choice in Kigali City and give you a briefing about the city. He or she will brief you about Kigali city tour, then take you on a tour of Kimironko Market, the largest market in Rwanda, where you can see a variety of interesting features like how Rwandans run their businesses and purchase a variety of souvenirs. After the market tour, you’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum, where you can learn more about the Rwandan genocide by visiting the display areas such as the children’s exhibition area and the large exhibition area that will give you an in-depth look at the genocide. Afterwards, you will make your way to the twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, where you may witness a variety of aquatic avian species, including huge cormorants and African kingfishers. You will then transfer to Musanze where you will get to your lodge for leisure refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Iby’wacu cultural tour.
On day 2 of your 2 days Rwanda Cultural tour after early morning breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and link you to Ibyiwacu cultural centre where you will get to visit the cultural village for a memorable Rwanda Cultural tour. Ibyiwacu Cultural Village is situated in Volcanoes National Park, which is well-known for being the best location in Rwanda to go gorilla trekking. It is also the home of the endangered golden monkey species, which visitors may witness while going on wonderful experiences during their cultural tours of Rwanda. You can learn about Rwandan culture at the Ibyiwacu cultural village. For example, you can help prepare the local dish, Ibiryo, which is a mixture of potatoes and goat meat.
