 Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Ruhengeri.

On the first day of the 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking. Your safari guide will pick you from your hotel or Kigali International Airport and brief you about the safari. Your guide will then transport you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a 30-minute journey from the airport for Kigali city tour, after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi people of Rwanda, approximately 250,000 Rwandans were interred on the genocide memorial grounds. The Kigali Genocide Memorial serves as an educational centre and a constant reminder of the atrocities committed during the genocide. It is also an initiative to disseminate the message of peace and love for all humanity, regardless of ethnic background. During your city tour, you can also visit Camp Kigali, the Nyamirambo Women’s Centre, the Caplaki Craft Village, and the Kimironko market, just to name a few.

Transfer to Ruhengeri: After lunch in Kigali, you will be transferred to the Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, which is approximately one to two hours’ journey from the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Check into your lodge for lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer back to Kigali.

On the second day of the 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, your safari guide will pick you up and transport you 30 minutes to the Volcanoes National Park offices to begin your gorilla trek.

You will be briefed by the chief park ranger on the Park’s rules and regulations, as well as gorilla trekking regulations, at the park’s headquarters. After this briefing, the park ranger will divide you into groups based on the gorilla family you wish to track. As members of one of seven habituated family groups, mountain gorillas have a high tolerance for humans. Depending on how readily a gorilla group can be located, trekking them could take anywhere between 30 minutes and eight hours.
