Day 1: Kigali city tour and transfer to Akagera national park.
On the first day of 4 days Akagera wildlife safari. Your driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport. You will go for a city tour of Kigali, stopping at the memorial sites commemorating the 1994 events that changed the course of the nation’s history. After that, make your way to the Kimironko local market to get a chance to meet people and purchase some locally grown products. After lunch, you’ll begin the two-hour drive to Akagera National Park.
After arriving check into your lodge in time to catch the sunset in the wild. Dinner will be served later and you will spend your first night in the park.

Day 2: Day game drive and afternoon boat trip on Lake Ihema.
On the second day of 4 days Akagera wildlife safari. Wake up early enough to grab some breakfast and connect into the park for your morning game drive. Experience the opportunity to view Rwandan wildlife at Akagera National Park. Spend around five hours on a drive where you may see the big five mammals like lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and smaller animals like antelopes, giraffes without forgetting bird species.
After lunch, you’ll make your way back to your lodge to relax. Head to Lake Ihema later in the day for your boat adventure. Be sure to bring your binoculars since there is an abundance of birds to see on this boat ride. After taking in the sights of the aquatic creatures, such as hippos and crocodiles, return to your accommodation to wait for dinner to be served and spend the next night in the park.
Day 3: Community cultural experience and evening game drive.
On the third day of 4 days Akagera wildlife safari. After having breakfast, you with your driver guide will drive to the park reception for your park guide for your half day experience. Participate in some of the events, such as the culinary classes and traditional dances, to learn more about Rwandan culture.
After returning to the lodge for lunch, you’ll wait for the sun to go down before leaving for your evening game drive on the opposite side of the park in hopes of seeing any animals you may have missed the first time around or getting a second shot at those you may have previously seen. Return to the lodge at night to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Drive back to Kigali.
On the fourth day of 4 days Akagera wildlife safari. Wake up at leisure and get ready to exit the park. Have breakfast and check out of your lodge and drive towards the park gate with a chance of seeing some animals. As per your advice, you will be dropped off after driving back to Kigali. You may take on the city tour on this day if you did not have time on the first day.
