Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Ruhengeri.
On the first day of 4 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour, you will be welcomed by our guide transfer to Kigali city for a short city tour where you will visit the genocide memorial site with lunch. You will travel to Ruhengeri town later in the day to spend the night and have dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans.
On the second day of the four days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking begins with an early breakfast before you depart for a park official briefing. After that, you will depart for the gorilla trekking. Going on a gorilla trekking excursion is an experience of a lifetime. In order to find the gorillas, the rangers will take you far into the forest. After making your way through the forest to eventually encounter the gorillas, you will have an hour to observe and take photos. After you will go back to the starting point and get the gorilla trekking permits for taking part in the activity. After that, you will head back to meet your guide and then head back to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you may go for an optional village tour for a cultural experience with a resident local guide. Return for the evening and the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe.
On the third day of 4 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After an early breakfast, check out and you will be driven to Nyungwe Forest National Park, stopping for lunch along the way. There will be stops along the way for sightseeing, bird watching, and, if needed, photo ops. Upon your arrival check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Departure.
On the last day of the four days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking tour, you will have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters to receive a briefing before heading into the jungle to go chimpanzee trekking and looking for the energetic and fun-loving primates in Nyungwe forest. The chimpanzees bounce from tree to tree while laughing and chatting, making them easy to see. It normally takes three hours to go monkey trekking.
Departure: After that, you’ll go back to Kigali while having lunch. You will get a quick city tour and be transferred to the airport for your next flight if the city tour was not available on the day of arrival.
