Day 1: City tour & Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest.
On the first day of the 4 days Uganda Gorilla and Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking tour, you will be picked up from your Kigali hotel or Kigali International Airport and taken on a tour of the amazing city. You will visit the genocide memorial site, where you will learn more about the horrific 1994 genocide, and the Kimironko local market, where you will mingle with the locals and try to score a deal on the local produce.
After lunch, go via the Katuna border to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, where you will find the gorillas of Uganda. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening with the stunning views of the landscape. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi.
On the second day of the 4 days Uganda Gorilla and Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking tour. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After an early breakfast meet your safari guide and transfer to the headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you are encouraged to have a packed lunch and bottled water in case the park ranger guides need to brief you between 7:00 and 2:00 in the morning. After your briefing, you will head out into the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s forests with your safari guide. This activity takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours while looking for the gorillas, while observing the spectacular biodiversity along the way. Your recommended spending no more than an hour with them after you arrived. After the trek, you return to the starting point, to receive your gorilla trekking certificates for participating in gorilla trekking and later be transferred to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe.
On the third day of the 4 days Uganda Gorilla and Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking tour. Wake up early in the morning and take a hearty breakfast. After an early breakfast, checkout from your lodge and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, stopping for lunch along the way. You anticipate engaging sightseeing along the route. The drive takes seven to eight hours. Upon your arrival check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking.
On the fourth day of the 4 days Uganda Gorilla and Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking tour. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, meet your safari guide and drive you to the park headquarters to get a briefing and head into the forest to look for the lively and playful guys in Nyungwe Forest. The easiest to see are the chimpanzees, who hop from tree to tree while laughing and chatting. Trekking with chimpanzees often lasts three hours.
After that, you’ll travel back to Kigali City while having lunch in Kigali. You will get a quick city tour and be transferred to the airport for your next flight if the city tour was not available on the day of arrival.
