5 Days Chimpanzee trekking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari : This Uganda wildlife safari will take you to Kibale Forest National Park, where you can interact with chimpanzees in their natural habitat, and Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can take part in exciting activities like chimpanzee trekking, guided nature walks, boat cruises on Kazinga Channel, and game drives in Kasenyi Plains where you can see wildlife species like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and waterbucks and diverse numbers of bird species.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale national park.

Detailed itinerary.- 

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale National Park. 

On the first day of the five-day chimpanzee trekking and Queen Wildlife safari, our driver guide will meet you either at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel, welcome you and give you an introduction of the safari before setting out for Kibale Forest National Park. The safari is a 5- to 6-hour drive, during which you will pass through the towns of Mityana and Mubende and stop for lunch enroute in Fort Portal. You will continue with your journey to the park after lunch, where you may enjoy breathtaking views of the Rwenzori mountain peaks, crater lakes, tea and banana plantations, traditional homesteads, and lovely surroundings. After arriving you will check into the lodge after reaching Kibale National Park for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.

On the second day of the 5-day chimpanzee trekking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will wake up early in the morning and take a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the Kanyachu visitors centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing about the rules and regulations to do during chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into groups of six persons after the briefing, and you will then begin trekking through the jungle in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. You will see a variety of wildlife species while trekking, including mammals like forest elephants and buffaloes, other primate species including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and grey-chested baboons, as well as many bird and tree species. After the chimpanzees are located, you are given an hour to spend with them in their natural habitat. During this time, you can observe their behaviors and habits, watch them feed, groom, hunt, play, fight, mate, and rest, as well as take pictures and record the videos to share with family and friends once the safari is over.

 After one hour with the chimpanzees, you will walk back to the park headquarters where you will meet your guide and return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on an exhilarating Bigodi swamp walk where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife species, including bushbucks, sitatungas, wild pigs, primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys, as well as different plant and tree species. You will return to the lodge for dinner and the night after the nature walk.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

On the third day of the 5-day chimpanzee trekking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari. Wake up early in the morning, checking out from your lodge and take a hearty breakfast and meet your driving guide and proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park. Along the way you will see breathtaking vistas of the breathtaking landscape, including crater lakes, the Rwenzori mountain ranges, tea plantations, and more, along the way. Upon your arrival, you will check into the lodge and eat lunch. After lunch, meet with your safari guide and go for a game drive in the late afternoon to see a variety of creatures, such as herds of elephants, buffalo, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and many bird species. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight after the wildlife drive.

Day 4: Morning Game drive/ lion tracking and boat cruise.

On the fourth day of your five-day chimpanzee trekking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, wake up early morning and take a delicious breakfast and your driving guide will pick you up at the lodge to go on an exciting game drive or lion tracking excursion in the Kasenyi plains. You can see creatures including elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions and leopards, as well as several bird species, during the game drive. After the game drive, you will travel to Lake Katwe, a Crater Lake, where you will meet locals who make a living by mining rock salt from the Crater Lake and selling it to merchants. Additionally, Lake Katwe is home to migratory species like flamingos, who are frequently sighted in October. You will return to the lodge for lunch after the Crater Lake excursion.

After lunch you will go for an exciting boat tour on the Kazinga channel, that begins at 2:00 p.m. a waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward, you will drive to the landing spot close to the luxury Mweya safari lodge. You will be able to see wildlife up close, including elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, and waterbucks as they drink along the banks of the river, as well as numerous hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water and a variety of aquatic birds, including herons, fish eagles, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorants, and bee-eaters. After the stunning boat cruise you will travel back to the lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Fly to Kampala.

The final day of the 5-day chimpanzee trekking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a leisurely breakfast then check-out from the lodge and meet with your driver guide for the trip back to Kampala. You will stop for lunch along the way in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural centre to taste to the organic food, and embark on your journey to Kampala you’ll also have another stopover in Kayabwe, where the Equator is situated and have the equator experience, and to shop for souvenirs. From the Equator, you will continue on to Kampala, where you will arrive in the early evening. Your driver-guide will then drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your flight home or at the hotel.
