Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.
On the first day of 5 days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour. Your tour guide will meet you at your Kigali lodge or Kigali International Airport, give you a briefing on your upcoming safari, and then drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Before going to the national park where the mountain gorillas are found, you can choose to take an extra tour of Kigali and lunch. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge, dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking.
On the second day of 5 days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour. Wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and drive a short distance to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where the park ranger will give you a briefing on your gorilla trekking experience. After the briefing you will grouped in different groups of 8 members with the ranger and explore the park jungles to look for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is a fascinating pastime that might last up from thirty minutes to five hours. The hikers must be in good physical shape because the terrain is occasionally muddy and rugged. After meeting the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them before returning to your lodge facility for lunch while watching them play, feed, taking their pictures, recording their videos and among others. You will be transported back to the starting point and get the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After you will connect with locals and discover their way of life during a community walk around nearby communities in the forest in the afternoon. After you return back to the lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and dinner night stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bukavu – DR Congo.
On the third day of5 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour. Wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and proceed with your journey to Democratic Republic of Congo. With the presence of the safari driver you will travel through Cyangugu border to enter DR Congo. The genocide site, king’s palace in Nyanza, and the national museum in Butare, the country’s second-largest city after Kigali, will all be visited. Lunch will be served on route. The largest freshwater lake in Rwanda, Lake Kivu, will be clearly visible to you. You will later arrive in the evening and then check in your lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Lowland Gorilla Trekking.
On the day four of5 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour, Get up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast meet with your safari guide and get ready to start your second gorilla trekking adventure. The lowland gorillas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are trekked in Kahuzi Biega National Park. You will be taken to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to consider during the lowland gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped in different groups and then go to the park’s jungles to look for the gorillas. The activity takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours regarding to the location of the gorillas. Compared to mountain gorillas, lowland gorillas live in larger families.  Once the lowland gorillas are found you will be given a period of one hour to be in a presence of the gorillas as you watch them feed, groom, play and among others while taking their pictures and recording their videos. After one hour, you will have a guided nature walk in Kahuzi Biega National Park and visit Tshibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, Mbayo tea plantations, the research center and the surrounding traditional homes. After the guided nature walk you will be returned back to the lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali.
On the day five of 5 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Tour. Get up early in the morning and be served with a relaxed breakfast. After your breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and be driven back to Kigali crossing through Cyangugu border. Reach Kigali late in the afternoon and take lunch. After lunch you will be dropped off at your place of convenience either at the hotel or Kigali International Airport.
