Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park.
On the first day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience, your driving guide will meet you either at Entebbe International Airport or at your hotel and give you an introduction of the safari before setting out for Kibale Forest National Park. The journey requires a 5- to 6-hours’ drive, during which you will pass through the towns of Mityana and Mubende and a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal. After lunch you will continue with your journey, where you will enjoy breathtaking views of Rwenzori mountain peaks, crater lakes, tea and banana plantations, traditional homesteads, and lovely surroundings. Once you arrive you will check into you lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation experience and Bigodi swamp walk.Â
On the second day of the 5 Days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience, wake up early in the morning and be served with an early breakfast. You will then meet your driver guide to go to the Kanyachu visitors centre for a briefing on gorilla habituation while carrying a packed lunch. After the briefing, you will trek through the jungle in search of the chimpanzees as part of the habituation process with a group of researchers, scientists, park guides, and park guards. You will be able to see a variety of wildlife species while trekking, including mammals like forest elephants and buffaloes, other primate species like red-tailed and blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons, as well as various bird and tree species. Once the habituated chimpanzees have been located, you will be given the opportunity to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat. During this time, you will have the chance to observe how they feed, hunt, patrol, rest, play, fight, build new nests in the evening, monitor their habits, take photos of them, and recording their videos to show people home after the safari and many more.
After four hours with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will meet your driver guide and be transferred to the lodge for an evening of relaxation or an optional nature walk to Bigodi Swamp, where you will be able to view a variety of wildlife species, including animals like bushbucks, sitatungas, wild pigs, primates like grey-cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red monkeys. After you will return to the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
On the third day of 5 Days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience, you will wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. Check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. While travelling, you stop for lunch along the way and take in the breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, lovely surroundings, terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, and traditional homesteads, and among other things. When you arrive, check into the lodge to have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
On the fourth day of 5 Days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience with gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda, you will have an early breakfast, bring a packed lunch from the lodge, and meet your driving guide to go to a briefing about the guidelines to follow while carrying out gorilla habituation. After the briefing, you will trek with a group of researchers, scientists, and park rangers, among others. Gorilla habituation experience lasts the entirety of the day, and while trekking you will see a variety of other wildlife species, such as buffalo, elephants, and other primate species like baboons, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and among many others. Once the habituated gorillas have been discovered, you will be permitted to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat. During this time, you will get the chance to observe their habits and behaviors, watch them feed, play, participate in the naming process, and take pictures, among other things. After the hour hours with the presence of the gorillas, you will walk back to the park headquarters, where you will be taken back by your safari guide and taken to the lodge for the evening’s leisure, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure back to Kampala.
On the final day of 5 Days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience, you will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to begin the trip back to Kampala. You will stop for lunch along the way in Mbarara before continuing on to Kampala, where you will arrive in the evening. When you arrive your driver-guide will then either drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your departure flight or at your hotel in Kampala.
