Day 1: Arrival and drive to Volcanoes National Park.
On the first day of 5 days Volcanoes and Maasai Mara safari. Upon arriving at Kigali International Airport. Your driver-guide will be waiting to greet you in the country of a thousand hills, contingent on the time of your flight into Rwanda. After exchanging pleasantries, your safari will begin with a tour of Kigali’s downtown, or better yet, lunch, depending on when you arrive. The Kigali city tour includes a visit to Kimironko market, where you may engage with Rwandan locals and purchase mementos. For more information about the 1994 Rwandan genocide, also stop by the Kigali Genocide Memorial Grounds. After all this, drive to Ruhengeri the home of the mountain gorillas and the location of the lodge you will be spending the next two nights. Dinner will be served and the day will end.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
On the second day of 5 days Volcanoes and Maasai Mara Safari, get up early in the morning and take delicious breakfast, after meet your safari guide with packed lunch. And head to the park headquarters in time for the briefing from the rangers before you enter the forest in search for the mountain gorillas. After the briefing, gather your essentials, hire a porter if necessary, and begin your walk. Approximately thirty minutes to seven hours will pass throughout the expedition, depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night. You will enjoy these gentle giants for a lovely one-hour period at a distance of six metres when you come across them. You will also have the chance to observe and capture pictures of the Volcanoes National Park’s mountain gorillas after you will return to the starting point to get the gorillas trekking certificates for taking part in the activity. Your driver guide will be waiting to drive you to the Iby’iwachu cultural village for your cultural experience of the people living around the park. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and the second night.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali airport and connect for your international flight to Kenya.
On the third day of 5 days Volcanoes and Maasai Mara safari, get up early in the morning and take breakfast. After your breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of your lodge and meet your driver guide who will be waiting to drive you back to the Kigali international airport in time to catch your international flight out to Nairobi Kenya where you will link up with your other driver guide waiting to welcome you into the country. After landing at Jomo Kenyatta airport, you will be meet by a representative safari guide from our company and welcome then after drive you directly to Maasai Mara National Reserve, where you will spend the night at a lodge within the park. This is a 5 hour drive from Nairobi to Narok the remote village that is the gate to the Maasai Mara national park.
Day 4: Full day in Maasai Mara National park.
On the fourth day of 5 days Volcanoes and Maasai Mara safari, Wake up in the mighty Mara region to an early lavish breakfast at your lodge in order to catch the early risers on the morning game drive in Maasai Mara national park. Go on an exploration of the Mara plains, home to numerous types of wildlife including antelopes, buffaloes, and lions. For those who enjoy birding, the Maasai Mara game drive is an excellent opportunity to see birds. You can witness the migration of wildebeests from the Serengeti National Park to Maasai Mara National Park from July to October as they cross the Mara River. After you will take back to the lodge to have lunch.
After escaping the sweltering sun by driving back to the lodge for lunch, you will go back for an afternoon game drive to see any animals you might have missed during the morning drive. Connect back to the lodge for dinner and a second night.
Day 5: Departure.
On the last day of 5 days Volcanoes and Maasai Mara safari, as you take in the final moments of the park, wake up in the morning and eat breakfast at your leisure and check out from your lodge. As you depart, you will have a third opportunity to take in Maasai Mara’s splendour, with an enroute quick game drive. You will drive straight to the airport to catch your flight back home or be dropped to any place of your choice in Nairobi.
