A 6 Days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari to see gorillas is one of the best ways to see wildlife and primates in East Africa. Both of these national parks are the most popular and well-known in East Africa. Serengeti National Park is in Tanzania. It is best known for the wildlife migration along the Mara River, which splits it from Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. Serengeti national park is the best national park in East Africa. It has a wide range of animals, including the big five: elephants, Cape buffaloes, leopards, lions, and rhinos. Wildebeests, Zebras, Thompson gazelles, giraffes, and Elands are some of the other animals. The sceneries of Ngorongoro crater is an added adventure.  Bwindi national park on the other hand is the only park where we find the endangered mountain gorillas in the whole world together with Mgahinga Gorilla national park, Volcanoes national park and Virunga national park in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo respectively. Views of Kigezi highlands add a remarkable experience of an African safari.

Detailed itinerary.

 

Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti national park.

On the first day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari. After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha early in the morning, your driver guide from Primate Holidays will meet you and welcome and then brief you about the safari. And after you will start driving to Serengeti. On the way, you will pass through the Ngorongoro conservation area and stop for a game drive and a bird’s-eye view of the magnificent crater. We will be able to see the beauty of Africa with its great scenery, abundant wildlife, and many different cultures. As we travel between the parks, we’ll pass through towns. When we get to the park late in the afternoon, we’ll check into your lodge for a late lunch. It’s a 7 to 8 hours from Arusha. Late evening connect to check-in your lodge. Dinner will be served and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Serengeti national park.

On the second day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari. Wake up early for the most highlighting game drives in the wilderness, see the nocturnal animals returning from hunting, the big cats walking dawn to look for the prey of the day and many more animals like Hyenas, Zebras, Impala, African wild dogs, Serval cats mention but a few then drive back to our lodge for midmorning breakfast. Have a rest as we memorize our experience in the morning have laughter as we wait for our lunch.

In the afternoon go for a second drive in search for what we missed mostly in the morning. Most big birds, like ostriches, secretary birds, Kori Bustards, Martial Eagles, and many others, are out and about at this time. Still we will be seeing a wide range of animals at the game drive retire for dinner and overnight at either lodge as above

Day 3: Transfer to Arusha and fly to Uganda.

On the third day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast, After our morning breakfast, check out from your lodge and drive back to Arusha, you will experience the enroute game drive through stopping to see animals along the way. You’ll make it to Arusha in time to check in for your flight to Uganda.  Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our company representative and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi home of Uganda Gorillas.

On the fourth day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. You will be picked up at your hotel in Kampala by your safari guide and driven to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, which is in the western part of Uganda and about 540 km from Kampala. You will make stopover for pictures and an experiment at the equator in Kayabwe, after you will proceed with your journey and you will make a second stopover in Mbarara town for lunch at Igongo cultural centre to taste on organic African food. And after lunch you will continue with your journey to Bwindi with the impressive sightings of landscapes, spectacular roads, and incredible farmlands until you arrive to Bwindi in the evening. Upon your arrival check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Bwindi.

On the fifth day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari.  Get up early in the morning and have breakfast early in the morning, together with your packed lunch meet your safari guide and go park’s headquarters. The ranger guides will give you a briefing there, and then you can start your walk through the forest. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day.

On locating them, you will be permitted 1 hour to watch them doing their activities, feeding, playing, grooming, and take photos and recording videos of these gentle primates. After enjoy your lunch packs and go the starting points to get the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. You will meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the lodge as you savoir the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Dinner and overnight at either lodge as above.

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe/Departure.

On the sixth day of 6 days Serengeti National Park and Bwindi gorilla safari. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you will be taken back to Entebbe. From Bwindi to Entebbe, it takes about 8 to 9 hours to drive, with a lunch break in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural centre. Proceed to Entebbe arriving late afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you will either be dropped at your hotel in Entebbe or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
