Day 1: Transfer to Virunga National Park.
On the first day of 6 Days Virunga & Volcanoes Gorilla Trekking safari, you will be greeted by your tour guide, a representative of our company, who will welcome you to the nation and give you an overview of your safari through the Virunga and Volcanoes Gorilla Trekking from Kigali City. Your guide will then take you to Goma and assist you in checking in and obtaining park permits. Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park.

Day 3: Mount Nyiragongo hike.
On the third day of your six day Virunga and Volcanoes Gorilla Trekking, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast, you will be driven to the Bukima section of the park after an early breakfast. There, you will participate in a climb briefing to prepare for the hike to Mount Nyiragongo. As you prepare to witness the effects of a volcanic eruption on the surrounding areas in the park, you will see several bird species as you hike the slopes in the regenerating forests. Therefore, you shouldn’t forget to bring binoculars to see the amazing species. After the session, you will set out to visit one of the most active volcanic mountains in the world with lunch enroute. Once you reach the peak, you will be able to spend the night there, watch the sun set, and prepare yourself for an incredible experience as the world’s largest lava lake erupts from the mountain. Day 4: Descend Mount Nyiragongo and Transfer to Ruhengeri.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park.

Your guide will then drive you to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, where you will receive a briefing on the guidelines for Rwandan gorilla trekking. After that, you will be assigned a Rwandan gorilla family to trek, and you will trek up in the various Virunga Mountains to reach the family. During the activity, you will see a variety of sights, including several bird species, plant species. The activity takes thirty mountains to six hours, and once the gorillas are found you will spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas while watching them feed, play, breast, take pictures recording the moments. After the one hour you will head back to the starting point and get the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in the activity. And after you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali.
On day 6 days Virunga and Volcanoes Gorilla Trekking, after an early morning breakfast, check out from your lodge and your guide will pick you and transfer you back to Kigali city. During the drive you will get a stopover in Gisenyi where you are going to catch an overview of Lake Kivu and also take part in some activities like birding, nature walks where you will observe how the locals engage with the lake, for instance, you will see how they carry out fishing on the lake, you will also get to see a number of fish stalls from which you can buy fish among other interesting activities Your six days of gorilla trekking in the Virunga Mountains and volcanoes will come to an end when you move to Kigali City for lunch. Your guide will drop you off at a place of your preference in Kigali City. Alternatively, you may take part in a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial museum where you will find out more about the 1994 Rwanda genocide memorial, you will also visit Kimironko market the largest market in Rwanda and after your safari, you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali city or Kigali international airport.
