7 Days Murchison falls, Kibale and Bwindi safari : This safari will begin and end in Kampala. When you go on a safari, you’ll visit places like Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can see rhinos in their natural habitats, and Murchison Falls National Park, where you can see a variety of animals like elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and Jackson’s hartebeest, among others. On your Uganda wildlife safari, you will also visit Kibale Forest National Park, where you can go chimpanzee trekking, Bigodi Swamp walking, and get up close and personal with endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

Detailed itinerary. 

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

Depending on where you are on the first day of the seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, our driver-guide will welcome you and give you an introduction to the trip before setting off for the largest national park in Uganda, Murchison Falls. The drive takes around 5 to 6 hours, and you’ll stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along the way to do rhino-tracking.  You will continue your drive to Masindi town for lunch, which takes you around two hours. Then, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park. You will continue to the lodge check in, into your lodge and relax for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise. 

On the second day of the seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast, after breakfast your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive. Here, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views of animals like buffalo, Uganda kobs, Oribi, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeest, and giraffes, among others, which will be grazing in the plains of the park. After the morning game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you’ll take an exhilarating boat ride to the base of the falls where you can see large herds of hippos swimming in the water, Nile crocodiles lazing on the banks, as well as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and other animals drinking water from the shores. You can also see water birds like hornbills, shoebill storks, cormorants, kingfishers, fish eagles, and bee-eaters. After the afternoon cruise that takes two to three hours you will travel back to the lodge for dinner and the above same lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park. 

On the third day of your seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, after breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel and meet your driver-guide for the journey to Kibale, also known as the primate capital. You’ll stop along the way for the lunch enroute, a chance to stretch your legs, and breathtaking views of the natural beauty along the road, including the Rwenzori mountain ranges, Lake George, crater lakes, tea plantations, and more. Upon reaching Kibale National Park, you will check into the lodge where you will spend the night and have dinner.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.

On the fourth day of the seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, you will wake up early in the morning and take a delicious breakfast, after the breakfast you will meet your driver guide and go to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be divided into different groups of six people per group, and you will then begin trekking through the jungles in search of the habituated chimpanzee family with the presence of well experienced park rangers. You will see a variety of wildlife species while trekking, including mammals like forest elephants and buffaloes, other primate species including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and grey-chested baboons, as well as many bird and tree species. Once the habituated chimpanzees have been located, you will be given an hour with them in their natural habitat. During this time, you will be able to observe their behaviors and habits, as well as watch them feed, groom, hunt, play, fight, mate, and rest. You can also take pictures and record videos of these events to share with others back home after this safari. After the one hour you will walk back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide and take a shuttle back to the lodge for lunch.

 After lunch, you’ll go on a thrilling nature walk in Bigodi Swamp where you can see a variety of bird species, including the great blue turaco, and the shoebill stork, as well as various plants and trees, animals, including duikers, bushbucks, and sitatungas, primates, including L’Hoest’s monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys, and gorgeous butterflies. You can also take amazing pictures while enjoying the cool breeze. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay after the Bigodi Swamp Walk.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. 

On the fifth day of the seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast and check out from your lodge, and your driver guide will pick you up to begin the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will make enroute morning game drive in Ishasha region, where you will spot the wonderful wildlife and spotting the tree-climbing lions that are perched in the branches of fig and acacia trees. You will also be able to see other animals throughout the game drive, including buffalo, Uganda kobs, elephants, hippos, and several bird species. After the game drive, you’ll proceed with the journey to Bwindi with the stopover along the way at Kitagata hot springs, to view the massive nature hot springs that boils eggs with in 15 minutes and lunch will be served from there, after lunch continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with the magnificent views of the beautiful landscape from Ntungamo district, Kabale district until Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, upon your arrival you’ll check into the lodge during the late evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.

On the sixth day of the seven days Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, you will have an early breakfast, with a packed lunch, and meet your driver guide to take you to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines to follow when going on gorilla trekking safaris. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of eight, and each group will be assigned a gorilla family to trek with a park guide who is familiar with the jungle’s routes. Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes you from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, who tend to roam about in quest of food. You can see additional primate species while trekking, including monkeys, a variety of forest birds, and several plant species. Once the mountain gorillas have been located, you will be given an hour to spend with them in their natural environment. During this time, you will have the chance to watch them go about their daily routines, including feeding, grooming young ones, playing, and more. You will also be able to observe their behaviors and habits while snapping pictures and recording the breathtaking moments. After the gorilla trekking, you can have an optional safari activity of cultural tours, to visit the Batwa in their homes. After you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala.

 On the final day of the seven-day Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast before checking out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the journey back to Kampala. You will stop for lunch enroute in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural center where you will served with the tasty and natural spiced food, after you will embark in your journey and you’ll also make another stopover in Kayabwe to have the equator experience through taking pictures and shop trinkets/souvenirs at the Equator. You will travel from the Equator to Kampala, where you will arrive in the evening. You will then be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport to take your flight home or at any convenient place for you.
