7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

Enjoy a 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari all of the country’s national parks. You may observe a variety of park animals during game drives in Akagera National Park, gorilla and golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park, and chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park to cap off your trip. Day 1: Arrive in Kigali.

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali.

On the first day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari, you will be met at the airport by a member of our Rwanda travel agency, and you will be taken to your hotel to complete the check-in, relax dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise

On second day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari starts immediately after your breakfast with a transfer to Akagera national park. As soon as you get to Akagera National Park, you’ll check into the lodge or hotel. After a thrilling lunch where you may sample some of the best local cuisine, your guide will take you on a boat ride around Lake Ihema.

You will be able to witness a wide range of aquatic creatures at the lake, including crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and several bird species that inhabit the wetlands and lakeside.

Day 3: Early morning game drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

On the 3rd day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla starts, you will wake up early and go for an early morning game drive. Early mornings offer a chance to observe a multitude of animals waking up early to feed, as well as predators hunting for their prey. After having lunch and getting changed, you will head back to your hotel or lodge to prepare for your trip to Volcanoes National Park. When you get to Volcanoes National Park, you’ll check into your lodge and unwind before heading out for the day. There will be dinner served at the lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking.

On the fourth day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari starts, get up early in the morning and take breakfast and after extremely early breakfast, you will proceed to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a standard gorilla trekking briefing. Here, you will receive information on what to do and what not to do during your gorilla tour. After that, a randomly selected gorilla group will be assigned to you to follow. After that, you will enter the densely forested Virunga forests to begin your gorilla trekking experience.

The gorilla trekking exercise lasts for between 30 minutes to 6 hours after which you will proceed back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. If there’s time, your guide will take you to a Banyarwanda community where you can engage in an exciting cultural exchange with the locals. You will head back to your hotel or lodge in time for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking.

On the fifth day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari, get up early in the morning and take breakfast, meet your safari guide and in the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing. You have two options: trek golden monkeys or trek to the Karisoke Research Centre, founded by American primatologist Dian Fossey, who spent her whole life protecting mountain gorillas. Fossey was assassinated there, and her remains are interred next to Digit, a mountain gorilla. At the research centre, you will discover more about the life of mountain gorillas.

You will then plan and prepare for your journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park upon your return. You will have a special lunch in one of the towns on route to Nyungwe, comprised of regional Rwandan cuisine. After lunch, you will travel to Nyungwe Forest, where you will check into your hotel or lodge for the night. We’ll have dinner at the lodge.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking.

On the sixth day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari, get up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters by your Primate Holidays guide for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. After that, you’ll begin following chimps in Nyungwe Forest, looking for the gregarious and energetic primates. The easiest to see are the chimpanzees, who hop from tree to tree while laughing and chatting. Typically, chimpanzee trekking takes from thirty minutes to three hours. After that, you’ll head back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you’ll stroll to the Canopy stroll, a 50-meter swing bridge strung between massive trees, via a walking track. From an aerial perspective, you will be able to observe the breathtaking rain forest and observe many animals that are moving beneath you. You will head back to your hotel or lodge in time for dinner before dusk falls.

Day 7: Return to Kigali.

On the seventh day of 7 days Rwanda gorilla safari. Get up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you will gather your belongings and set out to return to Kigali. You’ll take a Kigali city tour as soon as you arrive. You can also go to Kigali’s Genocide Memorial Site with lunch enroute. Your seven day journey of Rwanda comes to a close. After that, your Primate Holidays will drive you back to the airport or hotel.
