Day 1: Pick up and drive to Serengeti national park.

On the first day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. Your Primate Holiday guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and welcome you for your safari. You’ll go on driving to Serengeti National Park, where you’ll start your safari to see wildlife in Tanzania’s north.

After being taken to your lodge, you will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Serengeti national park.

On the second day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. Wake up early in the morning and breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park as you prepare for your game drives during the day. During your early morning game drive, you’ll see a variety of wildlife species, including kudus, waterbucks, dik dik, elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, elands, and impalas. And after you will go back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you’ll go on another game drive before spending the night at your lodge where you will see the stunning wildlife, and in this afternoon game drive you will be able to spot the animal species at the water sources to wash away their thirst which is a marvelous experience and watching different bird species.

Day 3: Drive to Ngorongoro crater.

On the third day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. After breakfast at your lodge, your guide will take you to Ngorongoro Crater. The biggest crater in the world, Ngorongoro, is well-known for housing significant populations of the big five elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos.

After having lunch, you will extend about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you can view tourist attractions such as Lake Magadi which is known for having large flocks of flamingos along its shores. During your safari, you will also witness a wide range of wildlife species, including cheetahs, jackals, gazelles, hippos, elands, and wildebeests, among many others. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 4: Drive to Tarangire national park.

On the fourth day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. Tarangire national park is renowned for its large herds of elephants as well as for having prehistoric baobab trees. After breakfast at your lodge in Ngorongoro conservation region, you will check out and be taken to Tarangire National Park.

Upon your arrival at Tarangire National Park, you will get to observe a variety of wildlife during your game drives in Tarangire National Park, including lions, leopards, elands, gazelles, and waterbucks. This national park is renowned for its large diversity of bird species, which may be observed at many birding spots across the park. You will be driven to Arusha after your game drive in the national park for dinner and overnight at Baobab tented camp.

Day 5: Full day in Arusha.

On the fifth day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. After breakfast at your lodge, you will be driven around Arusha, where you will take a city tour, see various locations, and get to know the Maasai people and their way of life. Afterward, you will return to your hotel to unwind and spend the remainder of the day at the Tulia boutique hotel and spa.

Day 6: Arusha to Momela gate to Miriakamba hut.

On the sixth day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. After having breakfast at your hotel, your guide will drive you to Momela gate where you will start your hiking adventure on Mount Meru. You will have the opportunity to witness animals along the way on your first day of hiking the mountain, which should take you five to seven hours. You may see giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffalos, among other wildlife species. You get to see views of rivers as well as a waterfall during the hike at the base of the mountain.

At the gate, you will be greeted by the team you will walk with on your excursion up Mount Meru. A briefing will be given to you before you begin your ascent. You will go to the Miriakamba Hut, where you will spend the night, carrying your packed meals.

Day 7: Miriakamba hut to Saddle hut.

On the seventh day of your ten days safari Serengeti and Mount Meru, you will rise and have breakfast made by your cook before setting out to trek Mount Meru from the Miriakamba hut. A ranger guide will accompany you as you ascend the steep trek to Saddle Hut.

You will also get to see crater vistas and walk for three to five hours throughout your ten day safari in the Serengeti and Mount Meru. At Saddle Hut, you will have dinner early in order to get ready for the trek to the peak of Mount Meru.

Day 8: Saddle hut to summit to Miriakamba hut.

On the eighth day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. You will start your day with an early breakfast as you prepare for your hike to the summit from Saddle hut. After Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest peak, and that is where you will begin your ascent. You should allow 10 to 12 hours for this trek.

After ascending the mountain’s rugged ridges and cliffs, you will spend some time at Mount Meru’s (4565-meter) summit. You will start your descend from the peak to saddle hut where you will take a break before continuing to Miriakamba hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Miriakamba hut to Momela gate to Arusha.

On the ninth day of 10 days Serengeti and Mount Meru safari. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast at the Miriakamba Hut, you will begin the descent back to Momela Gate, passing through meadows and forests that are home to a variety of wildlife. After your trekking journey on Mount Meru is over, you will receive certificates.

After this trip, your guide will take you by car to your hotel in Arusha, where you will spend the night and dine at the Tulia boutique hotel and spa.

Day 10: Departure.

Your ten days safari to the Serengeti and Mount Meru will conclude with breakfast, hotel check-out, and a trip to the airport, marking the conclusion of your Tanzanian safari.
