Highlights

Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri.

The first day of the Rwanda Cultural Tour begins with a pick-up from either Kigali International Airport or a location in Kigali City. A tour guide will provide a briefing about the city and take you on a tour of Kimironko Market, the largest market in Rwanda. Here, you’ll observe how Rwandans conduct their businesses and have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs.

Next, you’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum to learn about the Rwandan genocide through various displays, including the children’s exhibition area and a comprehensive exhibition area providing detailed insights into the genocide.

Afterwards, you’ll proceed to the twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, where you can observe diverse aquatic avian species such as cormorants and African kingfishers. The day concludes with a transfer to Musanze, where you’ll settle into your lodge for leisure, refreshments, dinner, and an overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Iby’wacu cultural tour.

The two-day Rwanda Cultural tour begins on the second day with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a pickup by your guide. You’ll then proceed to the Ibyiwacu Cultural Centre, located within Volcanoes National Park, renowned for gorilla trekking. The centre offers insights into Rwandan culture, including opportunities to engage in activities like preparing the local dish, Ibiryo, and witnessing traditional dances. The tour concludes with a drop-off at Kigali International Airport or a location of choice, followed by lunch in Kigali city. If time permits, you can opt for another tour of Kigali before your flight.
