Highlights

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and afternoon Boat Cruise.

The first day of the 3-day Akagera Wildlife Safari begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by a representative from the safari company who will serve as your guide throughout the adventure. The guide will provide an overview of the safari experience in Akagera National Park, located in Rwanda, known as the “land of a thousand hills.”

After the briefing, you’ll embark on the journey to Akagera National Park, enjoying scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise in the park.

During the boat cruise, you’ll have the chance to witness breathtaking sights such as the sunset and a variety of water birds capturing prey in the water. Additionally, you’ll have opportunities to spot diverse animal species including zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, cape bushbucks, Oribi, buffalos, rhinos, and crocodiles basking in the sun.

After the boat cruise, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay, preparing for the adventures that await on the following days of the safari.

 

Day 2: Early morning game drive and afternoon game drive.

During the second day of your three-day Akagera Wildlife Safari, you’ll start with an early breakfast at your accommodation before embarking on a morning game drive with your guide. This drive will take you through the park where you’ll encounter a variety of animals such as Uganda Kobs, zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, cape bushbucks, Oribi, buffalos, and rhinos, many of which are active in the early hours. You’ll have the opportunity to observe carnivores like lions and leopards before they retreat to their resting places. After the morning game drive, you’ll return to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you’ll go for another game drive, witnessing animals returning to their hiding spots for the night and carnivores hunting for prey. The day will culminate with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge, capping off an incredible wildlife experience in Akagera National Park.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali.

After enjoying a satisfying breakfast at the lodge on the final day of your three-day Akagera Wildlife Safari, you will check out and head back to Kigali. Once in the city, you’ll embark on a guided tour. Following lunch, you’ll have the option to be dropped off at a location of your choosing in Kigali or at the Kigali International Airport, concluding your memorable journey through Akagera National Park.
