Nyungwe National Park

The 3 Days Nyungwe National Park Safari offers an unforgettable experience in Rwanda’s premier primate destination. Highlights

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Day 1 of the Nyungwe National Park tour begins with a meet and greet at Kigali International Airport or any hotel in Kigali by a guide. A briefing session is conducted to outline the tour itinerary, activities, and expectations. Following the briefing, guests are transferred to Nyungwe National Park. The park offers sightings of various primate species including Rwenzori colobus, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, owl-faced monkeys, Angola colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Dent’s Mona monkeys, vervet monkeys, and silver monkeys. Upon arrival at the park, guests check into their lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk.

On the second day of the 3-day Nyungwe National Park tour, you’ll start early with breakfast before meeting your safari guide. Then, you’ll head to the Uwinka reception area for a briefing on safety guidelines. The highlight of the day is chimpanzee trekking, where you’ll encounter habituated troops, observe their behaviors, and learn about their diet and social dynamics. Along the way, you’ll also spot various bird species. After a fulfilling morning, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, venture back into the park for the canopy walk, a unique experience offering stunning aerial views of the park. You’ll encounter monkeys, birds, butterflies, and capture breathtaking photographs. Once the canopy walk concludes, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kigali.
The three-day Nyungwe National Park tour concludes on the third day with an early breakfast and check-out from the lodge. Travelers then head to Kigali, where they enjoy lunch and embark on a guided tour of the city. Highlights of the Kigali city tour include visiting Kimironko Market, the largest market in Rwanda, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum. After the city tour, participants are transported to Kigali International Airport or any other preferred location within Kigali, marking the end of the Nyungwe National Park adventure.
