Highlights

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

The 6-day Explore Rwanda Tour begins with a pick-up by a company guide or office personnel from the specified location. Upon arrival, there will be a briefing about the safari before heading upcountry. If time permits, visitors are encouraged to explore Kimiranko marketplaces in Kigali City and take a city tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial. Afterwards, the journey continues to Volcanoes National Park with stopovers for photo opportunities. Lunch will be provided enroute, followed by arrival at the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes National Park Rwanda.

On the second day of the 6-day Explore Rwanda Tour, participants will wake up early and have breakfast before heading to the head offices of Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing at the park headquarters, the group will embark on a gorilla trekking adventure, exploring the park’s forests in search of mountain gorillas and experiencing the diverse biodiversity along the way. Depending on the gorillas’ movements, the group will spend a maximum of one hour observing and interacting with them, taking pictures, and immersing themselves in the jungle environment. After the trek, participants will return to the starting point to receive their gorilla trekking certificates before meeting their guide and returning to the lodge for lunch.

In the evening, optional community excursions are available for those who are not too tired. These excursions may include a nighttime stroll, cultural tour, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking.

On day 3 of the 6 Days Explore Rwanda Tour, participants start early with breakfast before heading to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park. Here, they receive a briefing before embarking on a golden monkey trekking adventure in the forest. Unlike gorilla trekking, this experience is guaranteed. Expect to encounter various wildlife species in the jungle. The trekking duration is limited to one hour, after which participants return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, they have the option to engage in a safari activity such as visiting the Karisoke Center or participating in the Iby’wacu cultural tour. The day concludes with dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest (5 to 6 hours).

On day 4 of the 6 Days Explore Rwanda Tour, travelers will check out of their lodge and head towards Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, they will stop in Kibuye for lunch. Afterward, they’ll continue their journey to the park, where they will check into their lodge upon arrival. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking.

On day 5 of the 6 Days Explore Rwanda Tour, the morning begins with breakfast followed by a briefing at Nyungwe Forest National Park headquarters, where you’ll meet your safari guide. You’ll then embark on a chimpanzee trekking expedition, with the possibility of encountering these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat, though it may take some time to locate them. If you’re fortunate enough to find them nearby, you’ll have about an hour to observe and photograph them before returning to your lodge for lunch.

In the evening, during your leisure time, you can opt for a nature walk or a Canopy Walk tour. The Canopy Walk features a 50-meter swinging bridge suspended from tall trees in the forest, providing an exhilarating experience and stunning views of wildlife, birds, and the lush rainforest. Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night there.
